Theodore M. Johns, Esq. (“Theo”) is a licensed member of The Florida Bar since 1989. Theo is a Florida Supreme Court certified Mediator. Mr. Johns has represented both Workers’ Compensation Employees and Employer/Carriers for more than thirty(30) years, taking multiple cases to trial and some appeals with several oral arguments to the Florida First District Court of Appeals.
In 1998, Theo, together with three partners, founded the first State-Wide Workers’ Compensation firm with ten offices throughout the State of Florida.
During the course of Theo’s active practice as an attorney he has litigated to final resolution/settlement Workers’ Compensation Claimant, Employer/Carrier, and Personal Injury claims in total of well over 5,000 cases.
In 2007, Theo was one of the ten Founding Members and is designated as a Masters of The Bench member of The E. Robert Williams American Inn of Court in Jacksonville, Florida. Theo is also a member of the Florida Bar Sections of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Workers’ Compensation Law. Additionally, he is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association. Mr. Johns is well known throughout the North to Central Florida legal community as very knowledgeable of Florida Workers’ Compensation Law and Procedures. Theo’s reputation as a practicing Workers’ Compensation attorney was that of being an honest, ethical litigator and a fair and reasonable negotiator, who “thinks outside the box”.
Theo’s mediation skills are warm and personable, yet keen and very effective towards reaching a final resolution to each party’s satisfaction. Being a prior litigator on “both sides of the fence”, he recognizes and appreciates the advantage, certainty, and significant financial savings, commitment of time, stress, and exhaustion of the Claimant and Employer/Carrier by “wrapping up” the case at Mediation.
